Assistant Teachers

  • Prepare the environment for learning
  • Create individualized observations to participate in assessments and identifying appropriate material used for curriculum implementation
  • Supervise and care for children
  • Maintain continuous education requirements
  • Maintain a healthy and safe environment
    • Clean as directed

Requirements

  • Must have an associates degree or higher
  • Must have at least 15 units in Child Development, Early Childhood, or equivalent from an accredited college
  • Must have at least 3 months experience from a practicum course, internship, volunteer opportunity, or employment
  • Must have knowledge about Montessori philosophy
    • Teachers will be trained for their job but must have some basic knowledge about the Montessori philosophy before being hired

Nutrition – Health & Safety Specialist

  • The employee is responsible for managing the menu and food preparation as regulated by the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program
  • Ensuring health and safety requirements are implemented as directed by employer and all regulatory or accrediting bodies for the Trepson program
    • The employee should be prepared to clean and make the environment safe
  • Teaching assistant floater as needed
